There are some journeys in life that quietly change everything. For me, breast cancer was one of them. It reshaped how I saw my body, my confidence, and my identity—and it deepened the way I connect with every woman who walks into my studio. Because this has never just been about photos. It’s about how you feel when you see yourself.
For over 15 years, I’ve had the privilege of photographing women from all walks of life—different ages, shapes, stories, and stages of life. Some arrive excited, others nervous, many unsure. I hear it all the time: “I’m not photogenic,” “I need to lose weight first,” “I’ve never done anything like this.” And yet, every single time, something shifts. They leave standing taller, smiling brighter, seeing themselves in a way they haven’t for years—sometimes ever. That transformation is why I do what I do.
Going through breast cancer gave me a perspective I didn’t have before. I understand what it feels like when your body changes in ways you didn’t choose. I understand the vulnerability, the strength it takes, and those moments where confidence feels just out of reach. But I also know this: your body is not the problem. The way you’ve been taught to see it might be. Boudoir photography isn’t about perfection—it’s about showing you that you are already enough, exactly as you are right now.
At RedBow, we don’t photograph models—we photograph real women. Women who have raised families, built careers, faced challenges, navigated illness, started over, and lost confidence somewhere along the way. You don’t need experience. You don’t need to know how to pose. You don’t need to change a thing. That’s my role—to guide you, support you, and create a space where you feel comfortable, seen, and truly celebrated.
There’s always a moment during a shoot where everything changes. It might start with a small shift—a posture adjustment, a softer expression, a nervous laugh turning into something more confident. And then suddenly, she sees it. Not the version of herself she’s been criticising, but the one everyone else sees. Strong. Beautiful. Feminine. Powerful. That moment never loses its magic.
Being a breast cancer survivor didn’t just change my life—it gave my work even more meaning. I don’t take bodies for granted. I don’t take confidence for granted. And I certainly don’t take these experiences for granted. Every woman who trusts me with her story, her vulnerability, and her courage—it matters more than I can put into words.
So if you’ve been thinking about doing a boudoir shoot, let this be your sign. You don’t need to wait for the “perfect time.” You don’t need to change your body. You don’t need to feel fully confident before you book. You just need to be open to seeing yourself differently.
Because the truth is, you are far more beautiful, powerful, and worthy than you realise.
And I would love to show you that. 💫
